Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lemonomics mobile applications (the “App”), any related services, and any associated websites or help centers that link to these Terms (together, the “Service”).

The Service is operated by Lemonomics FlexCo (“Lemonomics”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account, downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference and forms part of these Terms. Where you access the Service through a Store (Apple App Store or Google Play), your use is also subject to the Store’s applicable terms.

1) Eligibility

1.1 Minimum age

You may use the Service only if you are 13 years of age or older.

If you are under 13, you must not create an account or use the Service.

1.2 Minors

If you are under the age of majority in your country of residence, you may use the Service only if you have permission from your parent or legal guardian, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law. You are responsible for ensuring you have any required permission.

2) The Service

Lemonomics is an educational app focused on economics. We may add, remove, or change features, lessons, content, or functionality at any time.

2.1 Educational use; no advice

The Service is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, or professional advice, and you should not rely on the Service as a substitute for professional advice.

2.2 Additional terms

Certain features or services may be subject to additional terms presented within the Service (“Additional Terms”). If Additional Terms apply, they are incorporated into these Terms for that feature or service.

3) Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, and to keep it up to date.

Depending on the sign-up method, we may collect different information:

Email sign-up: first name, last name, age, email address, password.
Apple sign-in / Google sign-in: we may receive first/last name and, depending on your settings, your email address.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4) Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to:

copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as expressly permitted;
scrape, crawl, data-mine, or use robots or similar methods to extract content or data;
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover source code or underlying ideas of the App or Service;
bypass or attempt to bypass access restrictions, paywalls, or security features;
interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing malware or overloading our systems;
use the Service in a way that violates any applicable laws, regulations, export controls, or trade sanctions, or third-party rights.

You also represent that you are not located in a country/region, and are not subject to restrictions, where access to the Service is prohibited by applicable export control or trade sanctions laws.

We may investigate and take action for violations, including removing access, suspending accounts, or terminating the Service for you.

5) Ads (Free Users)

5.1 Interstitial ads

If you use the Service without a paid subscription, the Service may display interstitial advertisements, including after lessons.

5.2 Rewarded ads for explanations

For some lessons, free users may need to watch a rewarded ad to unlock explanations for that lesson. If you repeat the lesson, you may be asked to watch a rewarded ad again.

5.3 Ad personalisation

We configure our advertising partners to disable interest-based / personalized advertising in the Service.

Ads may still be contextual and may use limited information for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement.

Ads shown in the Service are intended to be appropriate for users aged 13 and older.

Third-party ad networks and mediation partners may be involved in providing ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6) Paid Subscriptions (Lemonomics Gold)

6.1 Subscription offering

We currently offer a single paid subscription: Lemonomics Gold (annual) (“Subscription”).

Lemonomics Gold is intended to remove ads from the Service and remove the need to watch rewarded ads to unlock explanations.

6.2 Free trial

We may offer a 7-day free trial for Lemonomics Gold. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your Subscription will automatically renew and you will be charged the applicable price through the relevant app store.

6.3 Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold and billed through Apple App Store or Google Play (the “Store”). Your Subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled through your Store account settings.

Deleting your Lemonomics account does not cancel your Store subscription. You must cancel through the Store to stop renewal.

If you cancel, you will generally retain access to the Subscription until the end of your current billing period, subject to Store rules.

6.4 Price changes

We may change Subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will apply at your next renewal, subject to Store rules and any required notice.

6.5 Refunds

All payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods, unless required by applicable law or per the Store’s refund policy. Because purchases are made through the Stores, refund requests must generally be submitted to the Store.

6.6 EEA/UK consumer rights and withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have statutory consumer rights relating to digital content and digital services, which cannot be excluded.

Where applicable, you may also have a right of withdrawal (for example, within 14 days). Because Subscriptions are purchased through a Store, withdrawal requests and refunds are generally handled by the Store and subject to the Store’s terms and applicable law.

7) Special Offers

From time to time, we may offer discounts or special offers (for example, a discounted subscription) that may be available only to certain users based on eligibility criteria that we determine (such as progress-related signals inside the app). Eligibility criteria may change at any time.

Special offers:

may be revoked, modified, or discontinued at any time;
may not be transferred, sold, or redeemed for cash;
may be subject to additional terms presented at the time of the offer.

8) Bug Reporting and Feedback

The Service may allow you to report issues in lessons via a flag/report feature. Reports may be limited to selecting from predefined categories (and may not allow free-text or screenshot uploads).

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or issue reports (“Feedback”), you grant Lemonomics a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and otherwise exploit that Feedback for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the Service.

9) Intellectual Property

9.1 Our content and software

The Service (including the App, lesson content, explanations, text, graphics, illustrations, UI, audio, videos, designs, and all related intellectual property) is owned by Lemonomics or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Except for the limited license granted to you in these Terms, we reserve all rights not expressly granted.

9.2 Limited license

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App and access the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

9.3 Screenshots and screen recordings

Because we cannot prevent screenshots or screen recordings, they are not prohibited outright. However, you may not use screenshots or recordings to:

republish substantial portions of lesson content (including systematically posting lessons online);
build datasets or competing products;
distribute content commercially; or
otherwise infringe our intellectual property.

9.4 Trademarks

“Lemonomics”, “Lemonomics Gold”, logos, and other marks used in connection with the Service are trademarks of Lemonomics or their respective owners. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

10) Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate or rely on third parties, including Stores, analytics providers, and ad networks. We are not responsible for third-party services and your use of them may be governed by their terms and policies.

10.1 App Stores (iOS and Android)

If you downloaded the App from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, your use of the App must also comply with the Store’s applicable terms.

For iOS Apps obtained through the Apple App Store:

These Terms are between you and Lemonomics, not Apple.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the App beyond any refund of the purchase price (if any).
Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App or your use of the App (including product liability, regulatory, or consumer protection claims).
In the event of any third‑party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights, Lemonomics (not Apple) will be solely responsible for investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your license to the iOS App, and Apple may enforce these Terms against you as a third‑party beneficiary.

10.2 Third-party SDKs

We may use third‑party SDKs (for example, for analytics, attribution, subscriptions, and advertising). For more information about how third parties may process data in connection with the Service, see our Privacy Policy.

11) Suspension and Termination

11.1 Termination by you

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also delete your account within the App.

If you delete your account:

your in-app progress and lesson history will be deleted;
you may be able to create a new account later; and
you may be able to restore eligible purchases through the Store’s restore mechanism (subject to Store rules).

11.2 Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users or Lemonomics, or for operational, legal, or security reasons.

12) Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content will be accurate or complete.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lemonomics and its officers, directors, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lemonomics’ total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to Lemonomics for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by law (for example, for intent, gross negligence, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where applicable).

14) Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lemonomics and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

15) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated Terms and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

16) Governing Law, Venue, and Informal Resolution

16.1 Informal resolution

Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@lemonomics.app and provide a brief description of the issue. You and Lemonomics will try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

16.2 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have mandatory rights under your local consumer protection laws (including rights relating to digital content and digital services), and nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the courts of Vienna, Austria will have jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

17) Notices of Copyright or IP Infringement

If you believe that any material available through the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@lemonomics.app and include:

your name and contact details;
a description of the work/right you claim is infringed;
a description of where the allegedly infringing material appears in the Service (enough detail so we can find it);
a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized; and
a statement that the information you provide is accurate.

We may remove or restrict access to content where appropriate.

18) Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms (and any policies referenced, including our Privacy Policy) form the entire agreement between you and Lemonomics regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Assignment. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside our reasonable control (for example, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, internet or platform outages, or governmental actions).
Language. If we provide translations, the English version will control to the extent permitted by law.
